To carry out concrete maintenance and construction activities as directed in a conscientious and efficient manner, delivering effective, consistent, and cost-efficient services to achieve required outcomes for Council and its community.
Identify civil infrastructure defects and their causes, and be able to correctly identify materials and methods for repair of defects.
Plan daily work, including measuring and calculating quantities of materials required.
Maintain accurate and timely work records.
Carry out maintenance inspections of civil infrastructure.
Maintain good working relations and deal cooperatively and professionally with staff and the public.
Work with different crews across the region to cover staff leave and vacancies where required, ensuring a high level of service is maintained.
Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including all personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturers instructions, council's safety policy and procedures.
Experience in concrete works including the ability to place, level and finish concrete of various types such as exposed aggregate, stamped and stencilled.
Demonstrated numeracy, written and verbal communication skills sufficient to undertake administrative duties necessary for the role, read safety instructions, plans, and to effectively communicate with the public and team members.
Sound experience in undertaking manual tasks in a safe conscious manner.
Current MR class drivers licence.
Construction Induction Card competency that has been used or obtained within the past 2 years.
